Struggling Sununu Still Silent On Whether He Stands With Liz Cheney or Donald Trump

Republican New England Governors Charlie Baker, Phil Scott, and Larry Hogan Have All Voiced Their Support for Cheney

Governor Sununu still refuses to stand with Republican Governors Charlie Baker, Phil Scott and Larry Hogan who voiced their support for Congresswoman Liz Cheney this week for speaking out against Donald Trump’s Big Lie. WMUR’s John DiStaso “received no reply” when he asked Sununu to comment on the House GOP Caucus ousting Cheney after the three other Republican Governors did. Chris Sununu was asked last week whether he would defend Cheney on WKBK, and Sununu also refused to answer the question. Sununu now is the only Republican governor in New England not to comment on the GOP Civil War between Cheney and Trump. Sununu’s silence comes as Cheney herself is set to do a radio interview tomorrow with New Hampshire Today. “The lack of leadership from Chris Sununu is astounding. While other Republican Governors are taking a stand to support Liz Cheney and denounce Trump’s lies, Sununu is cowering in his corner office and refusing to tell Granite Staters where he stands,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley. Sununu also refused to denounce Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Don Bolduc for proudly signing a “disturbing and reckless” letter with other retired generals and admirals that spreads Donald Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election -- which Bolduc has now doubled down on.
