CONCORD, NH — During session today, the New Hampshire Republicans blocked SB 181, the Access to Abortion-care Act, which would have codified abortion protection into state law.
Similar laws exist in every other state in New England.
In response, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:
“New Hampshire Republicans gave us an unfettered look into their future plans. Now we know for sure: more abortion restrictions are coming. Their actions today set the stage for more deeply unpopular abortion restrictions to be implemented in the near future, and we know a total ban is their ultimate goal.
“Senate Republicans lost the popular vote this year because of their deeply unpopular position on abortion. It’s time they govern like it.”
