NHDP Statement on Mike Pence’s Trip to New Hampshire

CONCORD, NH — As Mike Pence heads to New Hampshire today, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement: “As Mike Pence heads to New Hampshire, Granite Staters won’t forget that he pushed forward Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda as his wingman for four years. Pence has already shown us what his priorities are: banning abortion nationwide, repealing the Affordable Care Act including its protections for people with preexisting conditions, and ending Medicare and Social Security as we know them. The last thing New Hampshire needs is someone like Pence in the White House.”

Here’s a quick rundown of the extreme agenda Mike Pence is bringing to New Hampshire:

  • Pence was the first Republican to call for a national abortion ban after Roe v Wade was overturned, and says the “greatest accomplishment” of the Trump-Pence administration was appointing the justices who voted to overturn Roe.

  • He’s a long-standing champion of ending Medicare as we know it, and continues to call for privatizing Social Security. Pence’s proposals could impact thousands of Granite Staters who rely on these crucial programs to get health care and make ends meet.

  • Pence led the Trump administration’s charge to repeal the Affordable Care Act – including its protections for people with preexisting conditions – calling it their “first order of business.”

  • Pence campaigned alongside election-denying candidates, including Don Bolduc in New Hampshire, in 2022 who wanted to overturn the results of an election that 81 million Americans voted for.

  • As governor of Indiana, Pence signed one of the most discriminatory pieces of anti-LGBTQ legislation in the country. He has also railed against marriage equality throughout his career.
