CONCORD, NH – This morning, marking one year since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn into office, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:
“One year ago today, our country turned the page on the most divisive, corrupt, and feckless administration we have seen in modern history to witness the swearing-in of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as our 46th president and 49th vice president. Swept into office by more than 81 million votes, including more than 420,000 votes from New Hampshire, President Biden and Vice President Harris laid out a strong vision of building our country back better from the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic. In working with New Hampshire’s federal delegation, the Biden-Harris administration delivered for Granite Staters in a big way over just one year.
“Whether it’s been the millions of jobs created, the shots in arms that took our state’s full vaccination rate from near zero to nearly 70%, the tax cut benefiting the families of more than 200,000 New Hampshire kids in the American Rescue Plan, or the billions of dollars in unprecedented investment in our roads, bridges, and water infrastructure through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and New Hampshire’s federal delegation delivered for our state. For most presidents, any one of these accomplishments would define a single term. For President Biden and Vice President Harris, all of this New Hampshire progress was delivered in a single year.
“While Chris Sununu and the NH GOP are more concerned with waging war against public education and teachers – that is, when they’re not actively banning reproductive freedom or mulling secession – the Biden-Harris administration and New Hampshire Democrats have been laser-focused on delivering for Granite Staters and their families. In just one year, that focus has led to profound results for New Hampshire families.”
