NHDP Chair Ray Buckley on Special Committee Vote To Rig Congressional Districts

In response to the NH GOP voting to rig the Congressional District maps, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley has released the following statement:

“Today the NH GOP’s anti-democratic behavior has resulted in rigged maps akin to institutionalized corruption. These rigged congressional maps are a complete disgrace and an affront to every Granite Stater who believes in democracy.

“We all know that voters should pick their politicians, not the other way around. For the first time, the NH GOP has carved up longstanding competitive districts -- districts that were originally drawn by generations of Republican legislators -- and redrawn them to rig elections in their favor as much as possible. This break with long-standing precedent further underscores how fundamentally unfair these lines are.”
