CONCORD, NH — Today, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley and State Representative Jodi K. Newell held a press call on Donald Trump’s broken promises in New Hampshire ahead of his event.
“On the campaign trail, Trump talked a big game about supporting working Granite Staters, making promises to cut taxes for the middle class, bring manufacturing jobs back to New Hampshire, address the opioid crisis, and more,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley. “Trump made big promises, and what did we get instead? A historically bad economy, three conservative Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade, and countless failures to help Granite Staters get the support they need most.”
“New Hampshire families suffering from the devastating impacts of the opioid crisis won’t forget that as we tried time and again to get Trump to take action, he ignored us,” said Representative Jodi Newell. “He said the opioid crisis was a health emergency but did nothing to take serious action. And, as opioid deaths rose, he failed to declare the crisis a national emergency, which would have urgently allocated the funding needed to actually address the crisis. Trump spoke to Granite Staters about how dangerous the epidemic is to gain our votes, but they were nothing more than empty promises.”
