Concord, N.H. – Political comedians The Good Liars released a clip from an interview they did with Londonderry State Representative and co-chair of the Trump New Hampshire campaign Al Baldasaro, who said, “All the terrorists are Muslims that have been attacking us here.”
This is just another example of Baldasaro’s blatant racism and Islamophobia. In the past, Baldasaro supported Donald Trump when he suggested barring all Muslims from entering the United States, saying the plan “is no different than the situation during World War II, when we put the Japanese in camps.” Baldasaro suggested President Obama might have been Muslim because of his positions on Iran and Israel saying, “I think he’s a nice guy, but I think something’s not right,” and he spread attacks on Gold Star father Khizr Khan labeling him a “Muslim Brotherhood agent.”
“The Good Liars didn’t need to try very hard to get Baldasaro to show how vile, hateful, and ignorant he is. Chris Sununu, Dick Hinch, and the New Hampshire Republican Party should condemn Baldasaro’s comments immediately and demand that he resign from office. It is shameful and embarrassing that they continue to remain silent while Baldasaro spews Trump’s racist rhetoric,” said Ray Buckley, chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party. “New Hampshire voters deserve elected officials who represent all Granite Staters, instead of just pushing Trump’s hateful agenda.”
