Pappas Delivers Powerful Speech, Promises to Deliver Results for Granite Staters with People Above Politics Agenda
Manchester, NH - Chris Pappas defeated Republican Eddie Edwards tonight to represent the state’s First Congressional District. Chris joins just six Democratic current members of Congress under the age of 40 and will become the first openly LGBTQ member of Congress in New Hampshire history. Chris' victory comes in a district won by President Trump in 2016, which has a 2-point Republican registration advantage.
NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:
“This is a historic moment for our state. Congressman-elect Chris Pappas will bring decency and integrity to his work representing the Granite State in Washington. He will continue to work across the aisle to get results, just as he has on the Executive Council. I couldn’t be more thrilled for Chris. He will be a fierce advocate for the people of New Hampshire in Congress.”
