Paul Ryan Endorses Eddie Edwards and His Anti-Social Security Agenda

Concord, N.H. - Today, WMUR reported that retiring Congressman, Speaker Paul Ryan will endorse 1st Congressional District Republican nominee Eddie Edwards. Ryan has used his tenure as Speaker of the House to try and repeal the Affordable Care Act and kick millions of Americans off health insurance, and to pass a tax scam bill that will add $1.5 trillion to the deficit, and has failed to increase wages for hardworking Americans while allowing the wealthy to continue consolidating their wealth. As the man who has pushed social security and Medicare cuts several times, Ryan is now coming to thank Eddie for his plan to axe social security. Just last week, during an NHPR debate against Democratic nominee Chris Pappas, Eddie Edwards declared his support for “weaning people off Social Security,” a proposal that would essentially rob seniors of their life savings. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement: "Yes, Eddie Edwards' newest supporter Paul Ryan, is in fact the very person who passed tax breaks for the wealthiest corporations and the super-rich paid for by a $1.5 trillion deficit on the backs of working families. Paul Ryan proposed solving this massive addition to the deficit by cutting Social Security & Medicare benefits for our seniors. Eddie Edwards is clearly on board with the Ryan-agenda: he has promised to 'start weaning people off Social Security' if he has the chance, which is perfectly in-line with Paul Ryan's dream to cut any earned benefit he can find. Maybe they can lift weights together with all the free time they'll have after November 6th."
