Concord, N.H. - Today, Governor Sununu finally broke his silence on the Trump Administration's directive to break up immigrant families at the border, releasing a statement that failed to specifically address whether or not he supports Trump's policy. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement: "President Trump's policy of separating families is utterly inhumane. It is unconscionable that anyone could treat children and families so callously, and Governor Sununu's toothless statement is completely inadequate. When children are being locked up in cages there can be no time for party loyalty, there is only right and wrong. What Trump is doing is wrong and unless Sununu says so, he is complicit in the damage Trump is causing. New Hampshire voters have a right to know where Sununu stands on this issue. We are therefore calling on Sununu to join our delegation in unequivocally condemning Trump's actions. It is time for Sununu to finally choose between his party and his country."
