Last night on All In With Chris Hayes and on Erin Burnett OutFront, Don Bolduc was called out once again for attempts to “amazingly change his mind” and erase his history of election denial. Hayes cited Bolduc’s repeated efforts to spread the Big Lie, including the “big letter spreading the Big Lie that the 2020 election was rigged“ that Bolduc signed, and the fact that “he told the New Yorker he would overturn the election results in 2024 if he deems them fraudulent.” “In a sense, you’ve got to give someone credit for being willing to say the sky is blue and then the sky is black back-to-back and without shame,” Burnett said of Bolduc’s wild u-turn. Watch:
Chris Hayes: “Take the guy who won the New Hampshire Republican primary for Senate, Don Bolduc. He will face off against sitting Democratic Senator Maggie Hassan.”
Hayes: “Now, Bolduc is one of over 120 former top military officials who signed this big letter spreading the Big Lie that the 2020 election was rigged. And in 2021, he told the New Yorker he would overturn the election results in 2024 if he deems them fraudulent."
Hayes: “The night he won the primary, he came out holding a shield with the letter V studded with arrows. But then yesterday, just amazingly seemed to change his mind about whether the 2020 election was stolen.”
Hayes: “Well, what do you know? Welcome to the party! Election denier? Me? Lil ol’ Don Bolduc? No. Here's the thing, all these people understand that Donald Trump and pro-coup talk can help win a primary with the base, but not that popular, at large actually.”
Erin Burnett, Anchor: “Enter Don Bolduc because this is amazing. You know, in a sense, you’ve got to give someone credit for being willing to say the sky is blue and then the sky is black back-to-back.”
Chris Cillizza, CNN Politics Editor-at-Large: “I just want to make one quick point on that for viewers who are watching closely: August 14 was the date of that first clip you played. This wasn’t six months ago that he said that about Donald Trump and the stolen election, right. This was a month ago and then he wins the primary and all of a sudden things are different.”
