STATEMENT: NHDP Chair on Chris Sununu’s Three-Day Junket in California

Today, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement on Chris Sununu’s secretive, three-day trip to California. Amid rising hospitalizations and COVID-19 cases, the Governor is leaving the state for three days to be in California – but has only announced one public event during the trip, raising the prospect that he using his junket to California to hobnob with Mitch McConnell’s favorite West Coast donors:

“Chris Sununu is once again abandoning New Hampshire just as our hospitalizations are peaking and cases are on the rise to go on a political junket in California. The Governor should be focusing on protecting the health and safety of Granite Staters — not furthering his political ambitions by pandering to Mitch McConnell’s favorite donors on the other side of the country.”
