CONCORD, NH — As Ron DeSantis travels to New Hampshire today, NHDP spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement:
“Ron DeSantis jumped at the opportunity to sign one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country after Trump helped overturn Roe. As Granite Staters continue to face GOP attacks on their reproductive freedoms, the cruel reality is DeSantis and MAGA Republicans will stop at nothing to ban abortion nationwide if elected — and New Hampshire women will be forced to pay the price.”
Ron DeSantis signed into law a cruel abortion ban in Florida and has pledged to sign a national ban:
DeSantis signed one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country earlier this year, which bans abortion in Florida before many women know they’re pregnant and threatens to throw doctors in jail.
Last year, DeSantis also signed into law an extreme abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest.
It’s no surprise that throughout his campaign, DeSantis has only doubled down on his promise to sign a national abortion ban if it landed on his desk.
