NHDP Statement on the Inflation Reduction Act Being Signed into Law

CONCORD, NH — Today, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, which will bring down prescription drug prices and energy costs for New Hampshire families, as well as take important steps to reduce the deficit, build a clean energy economy, and address inflation.

In response, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:

“The Inflation Reduction Act is historic legislation and another example of President Biden and Democrats’ leadership and ability to deliver results for the people of New Hampshire.

President Biden, Senator Shaheen, Senator Hassan, Congresswoman Kuster, Congressman Pappas took on some of the most challenging special interests — like Big Pharma and Big Oil — to deliver real relief for Granite Staters. The law includes much-needed measures that our federal delegation fought for, such as lowering prescription drug costs by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, and cutting energy costs for families.

Without our federal delegation, none of this would be possible. Democrats deliver results, and it’s why Granite Staters are going to overwhelmingly choose to re-elect Senator Hassan, Congresswoman Kuster, and Congressman Pappas this November.”
