Concord, N.H. -- Mitch McConnell’s out-of-state dark money group is attacking Senator Maggie Hassan for…. being from Montana? According to a new report from WMUR’s John DiStaso, McConnell’s dark money group is running ads attacking Senator Hasan for not standing up for “MT elections.” “You’d think that Mitch McConnell’s dark money group would have at least thought to look up what state Senator Hassan represents before spending thousands of dollars on an ad that attacks her for supporting S. 1 and blatantly lies about the bill,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley. “This is undoubtedly one of the most pathetic and desperate attempts by Mitch McConnell to silence Granite State voters and keep dark money in our elections.”
One Nation is a dark money group funded by shady special interests that has close ties to McConnell and Senate Republicans. According to Open Secrets, “the dark money group has poured millions of dollars more into elections while avoiding FEC disclosure,” and funneled millions more to Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC aligned with McConnell to influence competitive Senate races in the 2020 election.
