Granite Staters Deserve to Know Where Sununu Stands on Trump Holding Federal Govt. Hostage for Wall

Concord, N.H. - Yesterday in the Foster's Daily Democrat, Governor Chris Sununu claimed: "my administration will continue to do everything we can to help minimize as much as possible the impact the dysfunction of Washington." The government shutdown has kept over 2,000 Granite Staters and 800,000 Americans out of a paycheck for the past 28 days. House Democrats have repeatedly passed bipartisan legislation reopening the government that just last month passed the Senate 100-0. Since then, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Trump have blocked this legislation from coming up for a vote once more, keeping the government closed. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement: "If Gov. Sununu has finally realized - after four weeks no less - that the government shutdown is hurting families in New Hampshire, he should direct that feedback to his pal at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. After repeatedly saying Mexico would pay for his useless border wall, Donald Trump is now proudly holding the government hostage in an effort to make taxpayers foot the bill. Yet Chris Sununu still refuses to stand up to him. "The people of New Hampshire deserve to know where Sununu truly stands. Does he support Trump and Senate Majority Leader McConnell's efforts to keep the government closed? Or will he stand up to Trump and his Party, joining our delegation in their efforts to reopen the government and help all those affected by Trump's shutdown?"
