NHDP Statement: Sununu says gutting preexisting conditions benefits made Trumpcare “better”

Concord, N.H. – Yesterday, Governor Sununu called the most recent changes to Trumpcare an improvement. In a conversation with WKXL’s Chris Ryan, Sununu characterized the bill, which now prices those with preexisting conditions out of the market and guts their benefits, as “better” than the last version of the Senate’s Trumpcare bill.

NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement:

“Governor Sununu’s support for President Trump is rivaled only by what his allies have called ‘laziness.’ If the governor had read even a word of the revised Trumpcare bill, he would understand how many New Hampshire families can’t afford to be priced out of the market or have their benefits stripped just because they have a preexisting condition. Last week, Sununu said an additional $45B for opioids wouldn’t make a dent, so what improvements is the governor talking about?”
