New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner Re-Elected for 22nd Term

Concord N.H. - Today, Bill Gardner was re-elected as Secretary of State for his 22nd term in office. The recently elected State House and State Senate members voted 209-205 to re-elect Gardner edging out his opponent, Colin Van Ostern. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement: “Congratulations to Secretary of State Bill Gardner on his re-election. Secretary Gardner's love of New Hampshire, our great traditions, and history has been evident every day throughout his years of service. I hope he heard the concerns expressed and views his re-election as an opportunity to both modernize the Secretary of State’s office, bringing more accountability and transparency to our elections, and to fight for all eligible voters’ right to cast a ballot, particularly in the face of efforts to restrict this basic right. “Thank you to Colin Van Ostern for running a substantive and positive campaign for Secretary of State. Van Ostern laid out a clear and commendable plan to improve and modernize our election systems. We all have something to learn from his vision.”
