New Hampshire Democrats Celebrate Pappas First District Congressional Ticket

Concord, NH - With the primary election declared, the New Hampshire Democratic Party is celebrating a strong ticket of Democratic nominees. Chris Pappas, Democratic nominee for Congress in the First District, is ready to take on his Republican opponent.

“I would like to congratulate Chris Pappas on becoming our party’s nominee for Congress in the First District," said New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley. “Chris has a long history of service to the people of New Hampshire, and I’m excited for him to continue that service as the newest member of our all-Democratic federal delegation come November 6.

“I would also like to thank the other 10 candidates in this race who had the courage to put themselves forward and run for office,” Buckley continued. “This is a critical time in our country, and I’m grateful that these candidates stepped up. Over the next two years, Republicans will be increasingly focused on protecting President Trump, who has the lowest approval rating of any sitting president heading into a midterm election, over the needs of Granite Staters. Edwards would enable the Trump administration’s most reprehensible policies if elected. We can’t allow that to happen, which is why we need to unite as a party and do everything we can to help elect Chris Pappas to represent the First District in Congress.”

The primary season saw an unprecedented eleven strong Democratic candidates for New Hampshire’s First Congressional District. All plan to unite and support each other following the results of the primary election.

"It's an incredible honor to be the Democratic nominee for New Hampshire's First Congressional District,” said Chris Pappas, “The voters sent a clear message last night: they’re ready for a candidate who shares their values and is prepared to get to work. They’re eager to have a check and balance on President Trump and the Republicans. They want to eliminate the influence of big money in politics and put regular people before corporate special interests. With this healthy and spirited primary process behind us, that important work starts today. With committed volunteers, impassioned voters, and a clear message, we can take back the House and restore New Hampshire values like integrity, decency, and community back to Washington and get Congress back to serving Granite Staters."

The New Hampshire Democratic Party and local leaders are now focused on unifying the Granite State’s Democrats beginning first thing tomorrow morning at the Party’s unity event.

In addition to tomorrow’s unity event, New Hampshire Democrats will be hosting a weekend of unity this Saturday and Sunday, with 240 canvasses launched throughout the state at 50 locations, bringing together all Democrats in support of the Democratic nominees up and down the ticket.
