One Week Out: 2024 Republicans Can’t Change Their Tune in NH

CONCORD, NH — One week out from the primary, all eyes are on New Hampshire. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement as 2024 Republicans parachute into the Granite State this week:

“2024 Republicans spent their time in Iowa spouting some of the most extreme positions in history all just to win over their fringe MAGA base. Now that they’re back in New Hampshire, Trump, Haley, and the 2024 field might desperately try to spin and hide their dangerous plans for this country because they know it won’t fly here – but Granite Staters won’t let them get away with it. No matter how they dress it up, these MAGA Republicans have already told us how they want to crash our economy and rip away our freedoms for their own political gain – and we’ll take them out their word.”

Watch some of the dangerous and out-of-touch things Trump and Haley said in the lead-up to the Iowa caucuses — because they’ll have to answer for them in New Hampshire:

Donald Trump said he was “proud” to have “terminated” reproductive rights — kind of like the time he bragged that he “was able to kill Roe v. Wade.”

“For 54 years they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it, and I’m proud to have done it. … Nobody else was going to get that done but me, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.”

Trump said he hopes the economy crashes, which would devastate hundreds of thousands of working Granite Staters.

“When there’s a crash, I hope it’s going to be during these next 12 months.”

Trump also said he’d be a dictator on day one…AGAIN.

“I’m gonna be a dictator for one day.”

Nikki Haley doubled down on her plans to rip away New Hampshire women’s freedom — another reminder to voters that she holds extreme views on this issue and has pledged to  sign a national abortion ban.

Moderator: “You said you wouldn’t support…a six-week federal ban [on abortion]”

Haley: “That’s not what I said.”

Haley heaped praise on Trump, reminding voters that she’s still in lockstep with her former boss and his extreme MAGA agenda.

“I believe Trump was the right president at the right time. I agree with a lot of his policies.”
