Sununu Says He Wants to Cut Department of Education Budget by 90%

CONCORD, NH — Yesterday, Chris Sununu joined Hugh Hewitt for an interview about his extreme, far-right agenda. After advocating for cutting Social Security and Medicare, Sununu stated his support for cutting the Department of Education by 90%, saying, "You take the Department of Education, for example, you can cut it by, you can keep all the money, but you can cut it by 90% & you get rid of all the bureaucracy."

This follows the ongoing lawsuit against Sununu and the NH GOP’s disastrous school voucher program.

In response, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:

“Chris Sununu and his party have made their anti-public education agenda very clear. He’s spent his entire career attacking New Hampshire schools and educators, and now that he’s laser-focused on building his national profile, he’s bringing his anti-public education crusade to the national stage.”
