CONCORD, NH — This morning, Governor Sununu joined Punchbowl News in Concord, where he was supposed to discuss “the challenges facing small business owners coming out of the pandemic.”
Spoiler alert: He didn’t.
Though he did not mention his failure to lead during the COVID-19 pandemic or the fact that he signed into law New Hampshire’s first modern abortion ban, he did make the claim that “governors get things done.”
In response, NHDP spokesperson Monica Venzke released the following statement:
“Governor Sununu, the supposed leader of the NH GOP, couldn’t stop his party from writing, passing, and sending the first abortion ban in modern New Hampshire history to his desk. The claim that he ‘gets things done’ is rich. The only people he is ‘getting things done’ for are anti-choice, far-right Republicans. Sununu's remarks with Punchbowl today make it abundantly clear that he is drinking the kool-aid of the radical-right extremists of his party, and he has no intention of stopping anytime soon.”
