Six Years Later: NHDP Statement on Trump’s Disastrous Tax Scam

CONCORD, NH — Today, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement on the sixth anniversary of Donald Trump’s disastrous tax scam:

“Donald Trump’s tax scam was a disaster for Granite Staters. While New Hampshire families foot the bill, Trump handed out tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy and major corporations – all while incentivizing them to ship American jobs overseas. The same catastrophic MAGAnomics agenda that left Trump with the worst jobs record since the Great Depression is on the ballot once again next November as MAGA Republicans run to extend these handouts to the ultra-rich. In 2024, New Hampshire voters will have a clear choice between MAGA Republicans’ push to give more tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and President Biden’s historic accomplishments building the economy from the bottom up and the middle out.” 

Donald Trump’s tax scam was awful for working Granite Staters:

• Thanks in part to Trump’s tax cuts, billionaires paid less in taxes than the working class for the first time in history. 

• While billionaires and corporations benefited, middle-class families fell behind as a result of Trump’s failed policies.

• Trump’s tax cuts had a catastrophic impact on the national deficit, ballooning our national debt and steering it to hit historic highs relative to our economy.
