RELEASE: Sununu Again Pressed on Trying to Hide Information on Veterans Home Outbreak

Concord, N.H. -- Governor Sununu was again pressed today on why he tried to hide information about the COVID outbreak at the New Hampshire Veterans Home. This comes after WMUR’s Adam Sexton obtained a damning assessment from the VA that lays bare Sununu’s failure to prevent or mitigate the COVID outbreak and proves that his so-called “review” is actually a sham. At his press conference, Sununu was asked if he had seen the VA assessment from December -- which contradicts Sununu’s claim that there was “nothing glaringly negative” in the sham report -- and why he left a box blank that asks what recommendations were adopted based on that December consultation. Sununu gave a nonsensical answer and admitted that his office received a report from the VA following an examination of the Veterans Home in December, but that his administration still left the information out of the sham report that he released in March. “It is becoming increasingly obvious that Governor Sununu is playing political games at his press conferences to hide information about his failure to prevent or mitigate the COVID outbreak at the Veterans Home,” said New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley. “It’s time for Governor Sununu to prioritize the health and safety of our veterans and nursing home staff and finally fully implement the recommendations from the December assessment.”
