RELEASE: Statement from Chairman Buckley on the Chaos & Confusion Being Sown by the NHGOP

NHDP

Concord, N.H. -- Following the New Hampshire House Session yesterday where Republicans wasted taxpayer money playing political games and pushing extreme, anti-choice bills, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement. “This week we saw the New Hampshire Republican Party’s extreme and dangerous agenda on full display as they did everything they could to obstruct the voting process. The political stunts pulled by the NH GOP were disgraceful to the work that New Hampshire elected officials do. Representatives Packard, Osborne and their unhinged band of Trumpublicans and Free Stater extremists made it very clear that they care more about cheap political stunts than they do about delivering for the people they’ve been elected to serve. “Instead of working with Democrats to pass bills that would have helped Granite Staters get through the COVID pandemic, Republicans forced through dangerous anti-choice bills that are irresponsible, reckless, and unpopular especially considering the fact that we are in the middle of a global pandemic. Meanwhile, they voted down a bill that would have ensured that teachers and police officers get the retirement benefits they deserve, a bill that supports the needs of frontline workers, legislation that would guarantee fair redistricting, and other Democratic priorities that would help Granite Staters. “I want to thank all of our Democratic State Representatives who showed up yesterday to fight for the people of New Hampshire. I also want to acknowledge those who were unable to attend the session due to health and safety concerns, for their continued support of the Democratic caucus and for their tireless work on behalf of the people of New Hampshire. We will continue to do everything we can to hold Republicans accountable for their childish antics and dangerous policies.”
