RELEASE: In Radio Interview, Sununu Lies about Teachers Decrying His Decision to Put Ski Patrol...

NHDP

Concord, N.H. -- On WKBK's Good Morning with Dan Mitchell, Governor Chris Sununu lied about the teachers who are standing up to his decision to ignore CDC guidelines and move up members of the ski patrol in the vaccine rollout ahead of teachers. Individual teachers from every corner of the state have led the charge against Sununu’s decision to prioritize ski patrol members in the vaccine roll-out and have brought their concerns directly to Sununu. A petition on Change.org started by Sean Parr, a Manchester parent and member of the Smyth Road School Parent Teacher Organization calling for teachers to be moved to Phase 1b has more than 1,200 signatures, another petition by educator Ellen Grudzien making the same call to action has collected over 10,000 signatures, and more than 300 educators sent a letter to Sununu last week calling on him to prioritize vaccines for teachers instead of ski patrol members. “For weeks, hundreds of New Hampshire educators have called on Sununu to vaccinate teachers ahead of ski patrol members, and they have been met with attacks and lies from Sununu and his administration. That’s not leadership,” said New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley. “Sununu should be listening to our teachers but instead, he is lying to distract from the fact that he cares more about his personal profits and political gain than safely reopening our schools.”
