Concord, N.H. -- After Governor Sununu’s failed vaccine rollout that left Granite Staters unable to register for their second vaccine and in some cases, with appointments canceled altogether, many Granite Staters are reporting that they are still unable to get their second appointment, according to reports. Sununu ignored warnings from immunization and public health leaders and instead was one of only nine governors to sign up for the Trump administration’s failed vaccine registration program which left Granite Staters unable to register for their second COVID vaccine, causing widespread frustration and confusion. After this bungled rollout, NHPR reported that Sununu said that “anyone receiving their first dose would automatically receive an appointment card for a second shot.” However, Granite Staters are saying that this week they left their vaccination appointments without a second appointment. Instead, they were “baffled” and “disappoint[ed]” to be told that “they would receive an email with information about their second appointment.” “The Governor said he would solve the problem he got New Hampshire into, but I am still hearing reports from Granite Staters, including elderly veterans, who are unable to get their second vaccine appointment,” said Senator Cindy Rosenwald. “Governor Sununu’s empty promises are starting to add up as more Granite Staters go days without knowing when they’ll get their second vaccine. Clearly, something is not working, and Governor Sununu’s inability to get the situation under control will only prolong the pandemic in our state.”
