Concord, N.H. -- Recent FEC filings reveal that failed 2020 Congressional candidate Matt Mowers has received thousands of dollars in campaign donations from his former Trump administration colleague Corey Lewandowski. Lewandowski has recently been credibly accused of sexual assault by a former Trump donor and his accuser has even come out with a stunning and graphic statement to the police detailing Lewandowski’s disturbing behavior -- which includes stabbing two people to death.
Since the allegations emerged, Lewandowski has been fired by the Trump PAC, Gov. Kristi Noem, and a Nebraska gubernatorial candidate. However, Matt Mowers still hasn’t condemned the serious accusations facing his associate Corey Lewandowski -- and has ignored press requests from WMUR, the National Journal, the Seacoast Current, and the Associated Press when asked for comment.
In response to the recent FEC filing, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley has released the following statement calling on Mowers to return his donations from Corey Lewandowski: “It’s clear that Corey Lewandowski and his shady associates are bank rolling Matt Mowers’s failing campaign. We all know that Matt Mowers hangs around fringe characters -- but these reports surrounding known scumbag Corey Lewandowski are particularly disturbing. So disturbing in fact, that other extreme right wing Republicans are distancing themselves from Lewandowski -- yet Matt Mowers seems to be fine associating with his former Trump administration colleague. Corey Lewandowski has no role to play in New Hampshire politics and Matt Mowers must return every cent he’s received from his disgraced friend immediately.”
