NHDP Statement on Twice-Impeached Former President Trump’s Endorsement of Bob Burns

CONCORD, NH — Today, WMUR reported that disgraced, twice-impeached, and under federal investigation former President Trump endorsed Bob Burns, the Republican candidate for Congress in New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District.

Bob Burns has made his blind allegiance to Trump crystal clear after serving as Trump’s Youth Coalition Chairman and saying in a debate that he is “committed to supporting Trump” in future elections.

Bob Burns called the investigation into Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home an “abhorrent political raid” and said that he will “stand with Trump against this illegitimate deep state regime.” Burns also continues to spread the "Big Lie" that votes were stolen in the 2020 election.

In response, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:

“It’s fitting that the worst president in American history is endorsing one of the worst candidates for office that our Second Congressional District has ever seen. The voters of New Hampshire rejected Trump when he was on the ballot in 2016, and in 2020, and we’ll do it again in 2022 by rejecting Karoline Leavitt and Bob Burns.”
