NHDP Statement on the US Senate Confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court

Senators Shaheen and Hassan today voted with a bipartisan majority in the United States Senate to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court. In response to this historic confirmation, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:

“Despite Mitch McConnell’s obstructionist tactics, a bipartisan majority in the U.S. Senate confirmed the immensely qualified Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Judge Jackson has shown a deep respect for the law, and throughout the confirmation process, she proved that she is committed to upholding our Constitution and our freedoms. That’s why it’s not surprising that a majority of Granite Staters supported her confirmation. Today is a historic and momentous day for our nation, and we thank Senators Shaheen and Hassan for voting to confirm Judge Jackson, and thank President Biden for making such an exceptional choice to succeed Justice Stephen Bryer.”
