CONCORD, NH – In response to the beginning of AAPI Heritage month, NHDP Secretary Maitri Chittidi released the following statement:
“Today marks the start of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and I encourage everyone to reflect and recognize the various cultures, histories, and impacts of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders here in New Hampshire. Given the rise of anti-Asian hate crimes nationwide, it’s more vital than ever before to honor and celebrate the contributions of our AAPI neighbors, and how we have helped make New Hampshire the place we know and love today. I am so proud of the work of the trailblazing AAPI Granite Staters who have come before me and all of the incredible things they have accomplished. Members of the AAPI communities here in New Hampshire are local leaders, activists, elected officials, business owners, and so much more, and the Granite State is a better place because of us.”
