NHDP Statement on Senate Passage of Landmark American Rescue Plan

Concord, N.H. -- Today, Democrats in the United States Senate passed President Biden’s American Rescue Plan that will provide billions of dollars in economic relief to New Hampshire. In response, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement: “While Chris Sununu and the Republican Party sided with the Kochs and Washington special interests and did whatever they could to block necessary funding for New Hampshire during a global pandemic, Senators Shaheen, Hassan, and Democrats in the Senate passed one of the most monumental economic relief packages for working families in our lifetimes, which will provide critical aid to Granite State families, workers, and communities. “The American Rescue Plan includes $1,400 stimulus payments, unemployment insurance, aid for small businesses, child tax credits, funding to help safely reopen our schools, homelessness assistance, expanded Affordable Care Act premium assistance, billions in funding for vaccine and testing initiatives, and more. This economic relief package will be critical to helping us recover from the pandemic and I am incredibly proud of our federal delegation for the work they did to get this passed for the people of New Hampshire.”
