In response to the U.S. House of Representatives passing the Build Back Better Bill, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley has released the following statement:
“Thanks to the hard work of President Biden, Congresswoman Kuster and Congressman Pappas, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act. When signed into law, this historic legislation will bring down costs that have held back families in New Hampshire for decades by cutting taxes and making child care, education, health care, prescription drugs, and housing more affordable. It will also position our economy for stronger growth for years to come.
“The investments this legislation will deliver for New Hampshire families makes Republicans’ opposition to it even more appalling. Every single Republican running for Congress — Matt Mowers, Gail Huff Brown, and Karoline Leavitt — would oppose this critical legislation, denying relief for families and businesses just to score political points with the most far-right members of their Republican base. While Republicans continue to oppose legislation that will help Granite Staters, Democrats will continue to deliver for New Hampshire.”
