NHDP Statement on Nancy Pelosi Stepping Down as Speaker of U.S. House of Representatives

CONCORD, NH — In response to Speaker Nancy Pelosi stepping down from Democratic leadership in the United States House of Representatives, NHDP Ray Buckley released the following statement:

“Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been one of the toughest, most effective strategists and leaders the Democratic Party has ever known. Since she was first elected to the House in 1987, congresswoman Pelosi has been long known as a skilled Democratic legislator and fundraising powerhouse. As the first woman leader of the house, she has led a groundbreaking and glass ceiling shattering career, and paved the way for a generation of young women in Washington. “She is a destroyer of expectations and naysayers, her leadership has been central to Democratic success in the 21st century, and has provided a blueprint for our party’s success in the future.”

“She has the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s unyielding gratitude for guiding our success on the national level, and wish her the very best in her retirement.”
