NHDP Statement on House Democrats' Success in Passing HB 315

CONCORD, NH — Today, New Hampshire House Democrats successfully passed HB 315, a bill that would ban the so-called gay panic defense by defendants accused of murder in the state.

In response, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:

"Eliminating the gay panic defense in New Hampshire has been a long time coming. We want to express our gratitude to former State Representative Joshua Query for their groundbreaking work introducing this bill in 2020. We look forward to the Governor promptly signing it into law.

“This bill is not the end, but a significant step forward in our ongoing fight for equality and justice in New Hampshire.”
