CONCORD, NH — As Doug Burgum makes his first visit to New Hampshire as a presidential candidate this weekend, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:
“After signing one of the strictest abortion bans in the country, legislation that makes it easier for criminals to carry guns, and several dangerous anti-trans bills, Doug Burgum is now running for president to take his MAGA agenda nationwide. Make no mistake: he’s just another Trump-supporting, anti-choice, 2024 candidate flocking to New Hampshire to rip away Granite Staters’ freedoms — just like he did in North Dakota” Here’s a snapshot of Doug Burgum’s MAGA record as North Dakota governor:
For years, Burgum has closely aligned himself with Donald Trump and enacted his MAGA agenda. He endorsed Trump twice — saying North Dakotans were “proud to stand with” Trump — and traveled to campaign for him in 2020.
Burgum signed into law one of the strictest abortion bans in the country, which had no exceptions for victims of rape or incest after six weeks.
He pushed to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which is the lifeline for thousands in his state and millions across the country.
He has an ‘A’ rating from the NRA and signed legislation that makes it easier for criminals to carry guns.
Burgum also signed legislation endangering trans kids, furthering extreme right-wing culture wars at the expense of North Dakotans.
