CONCORD, NH — As Chris Christie travels back to New Hampshire today, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement: “Chris Christie is just another MAGA extremist who gave Donald Trump’s presidency an ‘A’ rating and pushed a right wing agenda in New Jersey. Let’s look at his record: Christie endorsed a national abortion ban, repeatedly called to repeal the ACA, and called for cutting Medicare and Medicaid – and that’s just the beginning. As Christie tries to parlay that record into a presidential campaign, Granite Staters want nothing to do with it.”
Here’s a reminder of Chris Christie’s extreme MAGA record:
Gave Donald Trump’s presidency an ‘A’ and said no one else is better prepared to “provide America with the strong leadership that it needs”
As governor, Christie backed a federal abortion ban and cut millions in funding for women’s health services, then worked with Susan B. Anthony List to coordinate efforts on restricting abortion in every state.
He repeatedly called to repeal the ACA, which could kick thousands of Granite Staters off of their health insurance and end protections for those with preexisting conditions.
He called for cuts to “all types” of crucial programs like Medicare and Social Security, putting him on the wrong side of seniors and in step with his old boss Donald Trump and other 2024 GOP hopefuls.
Christie proposed tax cuts that would have overwhelmingly benefited the wealthy and corporations, which economists said “would likely end up hurting the middle class.”
