NHDP Statement on Anniversary of the Violent January 6 Insurrection

CONCORD, NH — NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement to mark the three-year anniversary of Donald Trump inciting a violent insurrection on the United States Capitol:

“Today marks three years since Granite Staters watched as Donald Trump, in a blatant attempt to remain in power, encouraged a violent mob to launch an insurrection on our nation’s Capitol. Insurrectionists spurred on by Trump ransacked the halls of Congress, threatened the lives of our elected leaders, and attacked law enforcement – threatening our freedoms and bringing our democracy to the brink of ruin. Since then, Trump has only doubled down on embracing insurrectionists and election deniers, parroting fascists, and even promising to be a dictator on ‘day one.’

“New Hampshire voters want more freedoms, not less – and they know we can’t afford another four years of Trump and MAGA Republicans’ chaos. This year, Granite Staters will once again reject Trump and stand with President Biden and Vice President Harris in the fight to defend democracy for all.”
