NHDP Chair Statement on Manchester Mayor Announcing She Will Not Seek a Fourth Term

CONCORD, NH — Following the announcement that Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig will not seek a fourth term for the office of mayor of Manchester, New Hampshire NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:

“On behalf of Democrats across the state, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude to Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig for her incredible service to the people of Manchester. The leadership and management she provided the people of the Queen City are a testament to the power of Democratic values and responsible, accountable government.

“Her service is marked by a list of accomplishments too long to name in full, including creating over 2,000 housing units, establishing a $2 million Small Business Grant program, bringing in over $112 million in federal funding, decreasing violent crime by 38% and leading the city through the worst of the COVID 19 pandemic to be stronger than ever before.

“Manchester residents like me are fortunate to have had Mayor Craig in this role for 3 incredible terms, and we are grateful to the voters for seeing fit to send the first woman to lead the city back time after time with a commanding margin. Without a doubt, Manchester’s future is bright due to Mayor Craig’s leadership."
