NHDP Statement on the NH Republican “B-Tier” Senate Primary Getting Even Messier as Kevin Smith Prepares to Launch His Campaign
Today, WMUR reported that Kevin Smith is stepping down as Londonderry Town Manager to run for US Senate. The announcement comes less than a day after Chuck Morse launched his own campaign, making clear that New Hampshire Republicans are about to enter a crowded and messy primary — which they had hoped to avoid. In response to the Smith news, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement: “Kevin Smith is a well-known extremist and one of the leading opponents of women’s reproductive freedom in the state of New Hampshire. With Smith about to get into the race, the Republican primary will only get more chaotic, more messy, and more extreme. Good luck!”
