NH Congressional Delegation Statement on the One-Year Anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health

CONCORD, NH — On the one-year anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision that overturnedRoe v. Wade, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Senator Maggie Hassan, Congresswoman Annie Kuster, and Congressman Chris Pappas released the following statement:

“One year ago, conservative Supreme Court justices overturned Roe v. Wade, enabling extreme Republicans across the country to do what they have been trying to do for decades: ban abortion and take away a woman’s freedom to make her own health care decisions. From state legislators to the 2024 GOP presidential hopefuls flocking to court New Hampshire voters, Republicans at every level of government have spent the past year pushing to criminalize abortion, punish doctors, and undermine the right to privacy — all while women and families suffer. These attacks on abortion access are dangerous and fundamentally at odds with the freedom we cherish here in the pro-choice state of New Hampshire.

“Now, the Republicans campaigning for president in New Hampshire are doubling down on efforts to ban abortion nationwide. The stakes of the 2024 election could not be higher and New Hampshire Democrats are as united as ever in our mission to fight for reproductive freedom.”
