LACONIA, NH – Building on the momentum from special election victories last year and victories across the state during Town Meeting Days this year, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley announced that the New Hampshire Democratic Party will open a coordinated field office in Laconia on Tuesday, May 24th, and will be joined by Congressman Chris Pappas and local Democratic leaders.
“From the North Country to the Seacoast, Democrats are building the momentum heading into November’s elections that is going to carry us to victory,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley. “These new offices are an integral part of our robust organizing program, and will help us turn out Granite State voters and re-elect Senator Hassan and Representatives Kuster and Pappas, elect a Democrat in the corner office, and win back the majorities in the Executive Council, State Senate, and State House this November!”
The NHDP’s Laconia office is the fifth field office to open in the past month, following the openings of offices in Manchester, Nashua, Exeter, and Keene. Additional offices will be announced in the coming months.
“There is so much at stake in November, and our grassroots activists are committed to ensuring we win up and down the ticket. I am excited to officially open our field office in Laconia which will serve as an organizing hub for volunteers in the Lakes Region. Over the coming weeks and months, I look forward to bringing our positive message to every corner of the district,” said Congressman Chris Pappas.
The Laconia office will serve as the hub for organizing, training, and welcoming volunteers, community members, and grassroots leaders across the region. It will be a space devoted to gathering and talking to Granite Staters in Laconia directly about Democrats’ commitment to taking on corporate special interests to lower costs for New Hampshire families, protecting reproductive freedom, and ensuring every child has access to a great public school education.
“Victory this year will come from meeting voters where they are and talking with them about the issues that matter most,” said Executive Councilor Cinde Warmington. “I am thrilled that the NHDP is investing so early in grassroots organizing, and I know that it will be the key to victory all over the Granite State this November.”
Since last year, New Hampshire Democrats have mobilized their superior ground game to defy national trends and win a series of critical victories up and down the ballot. In March, the NHDP helped lead efforts to secure important victories in local elections across the state — defeating anti-education school board candidates and over a dozen warrant articles that would have undermined New Hampshire’s elections, while electing strong Democratic leaders on Town Meeting Day and in the Ward 9 special election in Manchester.
“The Laconia Democratic Committee and I are thrilled to have this office opening up here in Laconia, and to have a place for volunteers and voters all over Belknap County to get involved. Through grassroots mobilization at the local level, we are going to be successful in Laconia and across the Granite State this year,” said Laconia Democrats Chair Scott Ringer.
The NHDP, and its coordinated campaign arm, Organize NH, will continue to serve as Democrats’ hub for grassroots organizing and voter protection in 2022. The NHDP will work to organize and mobilize Granite Staters in every corner of the state while implementing a sweeping training program to empower local volunteers. The effort will focus on not only re-electing the federal delegation, but also on electing a Democratic Governor and Democratic Majorities in the State Senate, State House, and Executive Council.
“Laconia residents have seen how the NH GOP have attacked our public schools, reproductive rights, and our voting rights. This office, in addition to those already opened this year, is another example of how Democrats are investing early in a grassroots field team, which is going to lead us to victory this November from the North Country to the Seacoast,” said NH House Democratic Victory Campaign Committee Chair State Representative Matt Wilhelm.
