CONCORD, NH — Today, the New Hampshire Democratic Party announced that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will be the keynote speaker of the 2024 McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner. First elected in 2018, Governor Walz is also the chair of the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), which will focus their efforts on New Hampshire this November. During his time in office, Governor Walz has shown the country what a Democratic trifecta looks like, keeping his campaign promises and delivering on his agenda.
"I am incredibly excited to headline the McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner, a historic tradition that helps to set the tone for Democrats in the Granite State,” said Governor Walz. “Among the many important races happening across the state, all eyes are on the open Governor’s race, which will shape the future of reproductive freedom, workforce development, education, and more across New Hampshire. We’ve seen what we can accomplish when a Democratic trifecta is elected and I’m looking forward to helping build one in New Hampshire by electing Democrats up and down the ballot.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Governor Walz to New Hampshire as the keynote speaker at the McIntyre-Shaheen 100-Club Dinner,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley. “In the words of the Governor, ‘You don't win elections to bank political capital – you win elections to burn political capital and improve lives.’ Now, Granite Staters have a generational opportunity to elect a Democratic trifecta, and that starts by defeating Kelly Ayotte and her dangerous agenda in November. Governor Walz has led the charge to show us what a Democratic trifecta can do; protecting reproductive freedom, strengthening voting rights, universal free school meals for students, forging the path to get Minnesota to 100% clean electricity by 2040, cutting taxes for the middle class, and expanding paid leave for Minnesota’s workers. Governor Walz serves as an example of what happens when Democrats win everywhere; they deliver.”
The McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner was founded in 1959 to support the candidacy of John F. Kennedy for President. Since 2010, the dinner has honored the work of New Hampshire's two most influential Democratic leaders in over a century — Senators Tom McIntyre and Jeanne Shaheen.
The 2024 McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner will take place on Friday, April 12th in Nashua. If you are interested in attending, please email press@nhdp.org to RSVP. Limited interview availability with Governor Walz may be available during the dinner.
