Concord, N.H. -- Today, former Trump staffer Karoline Leavitt received the endorsement of Representative Al Baldasaro of Londonderry. Baldasaro is an extreme right-wing member of the NH GOP with a scandal-plagued tenure and history of making racist, Islamophobic, sexist statements. In 2020, Baldasaro did not endorse Matt Mowers’ candidacy.
In response, NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:
"Al Baldasaro is a disgrace. I have no idea why anyone would seek an endorsement from him, but one thing is clear, this is a blow to Matt Mowers. The fight to be the Trumpiest candidate continues and by not receiving Baldasaro’s endorsement, Mowers is bleeding support from Trump’s NH GOP. This GOP primary in the First District will continue to be an embarrassing spectacle as these two former Trump staffers battle it out to see who can go furthest to the right to win the support of Trump.”
