Fact Check: Sununu Has a Full-On Meltdown Over His Anti-Choice Record
Sununu Can’t Handle the Truth About His History of Defunding Planned Parenthood, Attacking Reproductive Rights
In an unhinged interview with The Pulse of New Hampshire’s Jack Heath this morning, Chris Sununu had a full-on meltdown when asked about criticism of his anti-choice record and history of attacking reproductive health care in New Hampshire.
Sununu falsely claimed that “I've supported these family planning contracts and I have for years” — despite the fact that he bragged about being the self-proclaimed “deciding vote” to block funding for Planned Parenthood in 2015. And in an effort to deflect from his record of signing an abortion ban and mandatory ultrasounds into law, Sununu falsely claimed that advocates for reproductive rights are making “baseless attacks on me.”
“The truth hurts. Chris Sununu is the most anti-choice governor in New Hampshire history — and he is clearly in full-on panic mode that he is being called out for his extreme, anti-woman agenda,” said NHDP spokesperson Grace Hagerty. “No amount of complaining can hide the fact Chris Sununu voted to defund Planned Parenthood, signed into law an abortion ban, and required mandatory ultrasounds. That is Sununu’s record.”
