Concord, N.H. -- Last night Governor Sununu sent a tweet thread that incorrectly attacked President Joe Biden for following the United States flag code.
“Governor Sununu’s faux-outrage is offensive to our veterans and those in the armed services,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley. “Governor Sununu should immediately apologize for sending a politically charged and factually incorrect tweet to score partisan points. Sununu should comply with federal law and put the flag at full staff to honor our armed forces.”
President Biden sent a proclamation announcing that flags will remain at full staff in observation of Peace Officers Memorial Day because, according to the United States flag code 4 USC 7(m), "The flag shall be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day, unless that day is also Armed Forces Day." May 15 is Armed Forces Day.
Sununu has not deleted the tweet thread.
