Concord, N.H. - Today, the New Hampshire Democratic Party launched Facebook ads highlighting new reports that Corey Lewandowski's Washington lobbying firm is behind an influence campaign that could dismantle Obamacare's protections for pre-existing conditions. More on Lewandowski's lobbying firm's efforts that could result in an "end run around Obamacare," per Bloomberg News:
Bloomberg is reporting that Lewandowski’s Washington-based lobbying firm, Turnberry Solutions, where he is a “senior adviser,” was hired by Suffolk Administrative Services to lobby Trump's Department of Labor.
Lewandowski’s firm sought support for a new health insurance plan that, according to the article, “threatens to further erode Obamacare,” and would enable “insurers to gut an essential promise of the Affordable Care Act of making health coverage available without discrimination."
To accomplish this, it was reported that stakeholders altogether spent “almost $400,000 on the influence campaign."
The article reports that Lewandowski’s Turnberry Solutions directly lobbied Trump's Department of Labor on behalf of their client.
"Corey Lewandowski has been selling White House access to the highest bidder ever since Trump's election, and new reporting shows that his Washington lobbying firm is behind a campaign trying to gut Obamacare's protections for patients with pre-existing conditions," said NHDP spokesman Josh Marcus-Blank. "Lewandowski has a long record of selling out to bad actors like pay-day lenders, foreign interests and now, even corporate special interests threatening Granite Staters' health care, and that's wrong for New Hampshire." The New Hampshire Democratic Party has also submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the Trump administration demanding further details on Lewandowski's lobbying firm's efforts.
