In Case You Missed It, Ted Cruz is back in town, campaigning for former NH House Speaker Bill O’Brien’s campaign for the U.S. Senate. O’Brien has already pledged to be a Senator exactly like Cruz, if elected. So here’s what that would look like:
Repealing every word of Obamacare [2/12/15]. O'Brien himself has a record of advocating for kicking up to 89,000 Granite Staters off their health care, and letting insurance companies refuse coverage to the 572,000 Granite Staters who have pre-existing conditions. [8/2/13]
Defunding Planned Parenthood [9/28/15] and calling a woman’s access to a full range of health services a “war on women” [3/23/15]. Continuing to assault women’s rights, which O’Brien already endorsed when he said he would support the Alabama abortion law that bans abortion and imprisons doctors who provide a full range of critical health care services. [5/19/19].
Cheering on efforts to disenfranchise Americans [8/6/15], and restrict the right to vote [4/25/16]. O’Brien is in lockstep with Cruz here, having said they should strip the right to vote from young people because “‘They are kids voting liberal, voting their feelings, with no life experience’” [1/13/11].
“Bill O’Brien has promised to be just as extreme a Senator as Ted Cruz, repealing Obamacare, opposing a woman's right to choose, and restricting voting rights,” said NHDP spokesman Josh Marcus-Blank. “Campaigning with Cruz shows us what we already knew: O’Brien would stand with the far-right fringe members of his party, and against New Hampshire.”
