Bolduc Still Claiming McConnell's Support

In Case You Missed It, Republican Senate candidate Donald Bolduc was once again caught bragging about his ties to Mitch McConnell and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). Bolduc has repeatedly claimed to have the endorsement and support of McConnell and the NRSC, but so far they have have refused confirm his stories about their private meetings. "Bolduc is campaigning to work for Mitch McConnell, who wants to take away health care from tens of thousands of Granite Staters," said NHDP spokesman Josh Marcus-Blank. "Bragging about Mitch McConnell's support is sad enough, but to have the NRSC tell you to stop is downright embarrassing."

WMUR [10/21/19]: SUPPORT BUT NO ENDORSEMENT. When Republican U.S. Senate candidate Don Bolduc told Hancock Republicans on Sunday that the National Republican Senatorial Committee “is in full support of my candidacy,” a tracker from a pro-Democratic super PAC was recording his comments... The NRSC responded to an inquiry by WMUR about Bolduc’s comment by reiterating earlier comments that it has a policy of not endorsing candidates in open primaries and only endorses incumbents in primaries. Bolduc is among three announced Republican candidates vying for the right to challenge Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in the 2020 general election. The others are former New Hampshire House Speaker Bill O’Brien and attorney Bryant “Corky” Messner, while former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is strongly considering running. Bolduc has visited the offices of the NRSC and has met with staff and leaders there. The NRSC allowed Bolduc to use a room in its building for at least two fundraisers – something the committee says it does for any viable GOP candidate and does not mean it’s endorsing the candidate...

Union Leader [7/24/19]: There’s no signed, sealed, delivered “I’m yours” deal just yet, but there are plenty of signs that U.S Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s financial powerhouse may get behind the 2020 Senate GOP primary candidacy of Donald Bolduc in New Hampshire. Trust me, the last folks who want this story out right now are those backing Bolduc. There’s a time and a place for everything and when McConnell wants the world to know he’s with you, he’ll let you know and he hasn’t definitively done that yet... The candidate himself couldn’t resist spilling the news about his one-on-one in remarks last weekend to the Hollis Republican Town Committee at the Fulchino Vineyard . “I just sat with Senator McConnell and Senator McConnell was supposed to be a 10-minute meeting, it turned into a 40-minute meeting because he was interested in what I had to say about things. What I had to say about unity. What I had to say about bringing people together. Right? And I think I can do it. I’ve been there. I’ve been in those positions,” Bolduc said... “I got the support of the Senate fund down in Washington D.C. because I said just that. They go, ‘Well, we don’t need to talk to you anymore because that’s the kind of people we need in Congress today,’” Bolduc said. Aides to Bolduc say the candidate did meet with many organizations during his Washington visit, but there were no commitments.
