Today, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement responding to the budget agreement: "Today, the fair and equitable budget compromise proposed by Democrats in the legislature last week - HB 3 and 4 - was finally accepted by Governor Sununu with minor revisions. "For months, Chris Sununu and Republicans refused to work with Democrats and withheld vital funding for substance use disorder, education, and property tax relief to Granite Staters. But today, Sununu finally accepted the Democrats' budget, because Granite Staters from across the state and from all political parties held him accountable and demanded that he do his job." "This compromise budget prioritizes investments to combat the opioid epidemic, expand mental health services, improve education, and provide property tax relief - all without any new taxes. We are proud of our Democratic legislators for passing a budget that works for all Granite Staters."
